I LOVE Pictures!

***This post is a bit long, but there is a treat at the end!!!***

My love of pictures started I think when my little brother Mikey was born. So, 22 years ago. He was my first photo subject because he was so dang cute! I was about 12 or 13 years old and just loved taking pictures and then getting them back from being "developed" was ALWAYS the BIG treat!

This love continued into high school and I took pictures all the time and when I got them "developed" I ALWAYS got "doubles" to share with my friends! :)

While in high school my mom and I went to a scrap booking night and each made a page. This was something neither of us had ever done and I was HOOKED! From then on I made scrapbooks of all my pictures. Cut them all out, bought the paper, bought the embellishments, etc. They were my favorite thing to show off to people and make people. I was excellent at making them all the way until I had my first daughter.....then my hobby became her and not scrap booking anymore! HA! The sad part is that I have MORE pictures than I ever had because of her and where exactly are all of those pictures? The same place as everyone else's pictures ON THE COMPUTER!

So, since I didn't have the time to scrap book anymore....wait....the correction is I didn't MAKE the time to scrap book...anyways, I decided to try out a website that took all your digital pictures and made them into books. This was a VERY new concept 7 years ago and when I got my first book, WOW I loved it!!! So, I showed it to EVERYONE!!! I made maybe 4 of those books and then started to BLOG and didn't make another book until this past year!!!

Has the guilt eaten me up, yup! I HATE HATE HATE (and in our house hate is a bad word) that all of our pictures are HIDDEN in our computer. It is a HUGE Mommy Guilt for me! I want them out where the world, well just our family at least can see and enjoy them.

Now, from my professed love of taking pictures one would think that this story would lead itself into me being a photographer....nope...let's leave that to my extremely talented friends....I just point and shoot and try to capture what I can the best that I can! :)

Why do I have this love of pictures? Why do them seem like the most important possession we have? When you ask someone what they would save if their house caught on fire, what does everyone say (besides the living beings in the house) PICTURES!!! However, we now say the computer because what is on the computer, OUR PICTURES!!!!

Pictures create our story of our lives, they help us all to live on into a generation that we won't be here to see. However, with our pictures preserved in the right way, our families will be able to talk about us for generation after generation. If we go one step farther and actually journal with our pictures and turn our pictures and words into our own storybooks, we leave behind our own story that will become a family legacy!

How many pictures do we have of our grandparents that would mean infinitely more if they had written a story to go with those pictures! I know we have many. I would love to read my Mommom's stories about her life in her own words, but all we have are pictures and our own memories.

So, as you all know I started a business that has become a passion I had forgotten about. I will go into that in my next post.... :)

However, I leave you with this moving video about photos.

DISCLAIMER: No, I don't work for Kodak and you can no longer store your pictures on their site.....Oh and the site that took over their site...the one the rhymes with butterfly....well they own the rights to your pictures...so if this video moves you to need to start thinking about getting those pictures off your hard drive or out of your phone, ask me about the site you can use to upload your photos and still own the rites to all of them as well! :) Here's a hint: www.heritagemakers.com/mamarazzi

Every moment deserves to be remembered!! I can help you do that!!!! It is my mission and passion!
